How to be more organised as a teacher and have more organised classrooms

We always make future plans for the new academic term about the organization, especially. However, it's quite difficult to remember and follow our plans step by step or it could be challenging to know where to begin for organization.

Ece & ELT has suggestions for being more organised as a teacher and having more organised classrooms:

  • Have daily, weekly, monthly planners for to-do lists.
  • For classroom organization: Have labels. (Pens, pencils, papers, books- story books, novels, etc. , crayons. Writing station, reading station, speaking station).
  • Prepare name tags for students, you can easily remember their names if you meet them for the first time.
  • Prepare lesson plans. Have back up plans.
  • Decide on agreeable classroom rules.
  • Observe possible problems you may have to overcome during teaching process. (Tips for classroom rules: positive, visual, agreeable) teach students the rules with a simple teacher talk. They should be positive because as teachers, our intentions are to prevent any problems that are likely to be occurred and have negative effects on students’ learning process, and to help our learners how to be more respectful to each other and their teachers. Otherwise, some students’ shouting, interrupting the lesson and distracting their friends’ attention could be highly problematic. They should be visual so that students each student can see and understand the rules. They should be supported with visual aids and written well. They should be agreeable so that students agree and follow the rules by being respectful to each other and the teacher. It can also be a good idea to emphasize that these rules are necessary to help all students learn better.

If you have more ideas for being organised and classroom organisation, please let Ece & ELT know in the comments.
