- Have a teaching style: Be original and unique.
- Start a blog to share your ideas, to revise your past experiences and knowledge, you can use it as a notebook and to introduce yourself.
- Set up a profile on LinkedIn to introduce yourself effectively. Share your blog posts there. Contact with other professionals in your subject area.
- Learn more about how to use social media actively and effectively: you can search for it on the Internet, ask your friends, family members, colleagues, who you know are techno geek, for new ideas. Here are ELT’s suggestions:
- Be positive on social media.
- Make sure that you have your own style as a teacher and you introduce yourself effectively explaining who you are, what your teaching style is, what you dreams and goals are. You can make a video and/or start a blog to do that.
- Make sure that you follow right accounts related to your subject area.
- Write for other education blogs to expand your network and to introduce yourself to new people.
- Keep updated: Be open to learn new things as everything changes rapidly. Join teacher groups on social media, online courses to improve your teaching style. Share samples of course materials, activities, games, tasks, lecture notes that you prepare, on your blog to show that your perspective as a teacher is wide. You can start MA and PhD degrees to be more professional in your field.
May your freelance teaching career bring you joy and success!
